Subject: [GECCO 2017] Job Market

GECCO Job Market
[http://gecco-2017.sigevo.org/index.html/Job+Market]

The GECCO Job Market will be an event where people offering jobs can
advertise open positions and meet with potential candidates. Any kind
of positions are eligible (PhD, Postdoc, Professor, Engineer, etc.) -
from the academia as well as the industry.

The job market will be organized as a short session at the beginning
of the lunch break on Monday, July 17. After brief presentations of
the available positions, participants will have the possibility to set
up face-to-face meetings for further discussions.

To participate with a job offer, create a new ad at the SIGEVO web
site (http://sig.sigevo.org/index.html/tiki-index.php?page=Job%20Ads).
Make sure to check the “GECCO availability” option that confirms your
attendance at the job market. In addition, prepare one slide
describing the job (in PDF) and send it to tea.tusar[at]ijs.si by
Friday, July 7.

IMPORTANT DATES

Friday, July 7: Deadline for submitting the ad and sending the slide
Monday, July 17: Job Market at GECCO 2017

Subject: GECCO 2017 Competition on Niching Methods for Multi-modal
Optimization: *9 July* Extended and Final Deadline

Please consider taking part in the GECCO 2017 Competition on Niching
Methods for Multi-modal Optimization, even if you cannot come to the
conference.

The deadline is on the *9th of July* (extended and final), so there is
still time to start working on an entry.

Please find more information about this competition on our web-site:
http://www.epitropakis.co.uk/gecco2017/

Please also notice the updated submission format.

Looking forward to receiving your entries.

Subject: BBComp: Black-Box Optimization Competition. Extended deadline: July 11.

The Black Box Optimization Competition (BBComp,
http://bbcomp.ini.rub.de/) organized in the scope of the Genetic and
Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO'2017,
http://gecco-2017.sigevo.org/) has five tracks in the domains of
single- and multi-objective optimization. BBComp is the first
competition platform in the continuous domain where test problems are
truly black boxes to participants. The only information known to the
optimizer and participant is the dimension of the problem, bounds on
all variables, and a budget of black box queries.

The competition is also the first web/online optimization competition
in evolutionary computation domain, it aims at attacking a growing
impact of over-fitting of optimization algorithms to a narrow set of
existing benchmark problems. The competition was run four times so
far, attracting more than 100 unique submissions, including some
state-of-the-art commercial solvers.

All the material including the source code in C/C++, MATLAB, Python
and Java is available at http://bbcomp.ini.rub.de . The results of the
competition will be announced during GECCO'2017. Participants do not
need to attend the conference or submit papers, they can even choose
to be anonymous to the other participants.

Extended Deadline: July 11, 2017

Subject: CFP: Submission deadline extended: July 30, 2017, The 21st
Asia Pacific Symposium on Intelligent and Evolutionary Systems (IES
2017)

Due to numerous requests from authors, the paper submission deadline
has been extended to July 30, 2017.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The 21st Asia Pacific Symposium on Intelligent and Evolutionary
Systems (IES 2017)
Hanoi, Vietnam, November 15-17, 2017 (http://fit.lqdtu.edu.vn/ies2017)

The Asia-Pacific Symposium on INTELLIGENT AND EVOLUTIONARY SYSTEMS
first took place in 1997 in Canberra and since then, the Asia-Pacific
IES Symposiums have become prestigious incubators of research ideas,
as well as facilitators of research collaboration. The Symposiums aim
to bring together researchers and practitioners from countries of the
Asia-Pacific Region in the fields of intelligent systems and
evolutionary computation to present ongoing work, exchange ideas, and
discuss future collaboration. Researchers from elsewhere interested in
collaboration with researchers from the Asia-Pacific Region are most
welcome.

IES 2017 will be held in Ha Noi, the capital of Vietnam, during
November 15-17, 2017, and organized by the Le Quy Don Technical
University. IES2017 welcomes fundamental science, methodology, method,
and practical application papers in the IES Symposiums’ traditional
range of topics, which includes but is not limited to:
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Life and Societies
Machine Learning
Neural Networks
Data Science and Decision Analytics
Evolutionary and Nature Inspired computation
Game Theory
Human/Brain-Computer Interaction
Agents and Complex Systems
Cognitive and Developmental Systems
Robotics Systems
Intelligent Transport Systems
