Subject: [GECCO 2017] Job Market

GECCO Job Market

The GECCO Job Market will be an event where people offering jobs can
advertise open positions and meet with potential candidates. Any kind
of positions are eligible (PhD, Postdoc, Professor, Engineer, etc.) -
from the academia as well as the industry.

The job market will be organized as a short session at the beginning
of the lunch break on Monday, July 17. After brief presentations of
the available positions, participants will have the possibility to set
up face-to-face meetings for further discussions.

To participate with a job offer, create a new ad at the SIGEVO web
site (
Make sure to check the “GECCO availability” option that confirms your
attendance at the job market. In addition, prepare one slide
describing the job (in PDF) and send it to tea.tusar[at] by
Friday, July 7.

Friday, July 7: Deadline for submitting the ad and sending the slide

Subject: BBComp: Black-Box Optimization Competition. Extended deadline: July 11.

The Black Box Optimization Competition (BBComp, organized in the scope of the Genetic and
Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO'2017, has five tracks in the domains of
single- and multi-objective optimization. BBComp is the first
competition platform in the continuous domain where test problems are
truly black boxes to participants. The only information known to the
optimizer and participant is the dimension of the problem, bounds on
all variables, and a budget of black box queries.

The competition is also the first web/online optimization competition
in evolutionary computation domain, it aims at attacking a growing
impact of over-fitting of optimization algorithms to a narrow set of
existing benchmark problems. The competition was run four times so
far, attracting more than 100 unique submissions, including some
state-of-the-art commercial solvers.

All the material including the source code in C/C++, MATLAB, Python
and Java is available at . The results of the
competition will be announced during GECCO'2017. Participants do not
need to attend the conference or submit papers, they can even choose
to be anonymous to the other participants.

Subject: CFP: Submission deadline extended: July 30, 2017, The 21st
Asia Pacific Symposium on Intelligent and Evolutionary Systems (IES

Due to numerous requests from authors, the paper submission deadline
has been extended to July 30, 2017.

The 21st Asia Pacific Symposium on Intelligent and Evolutionary
Systems (IES 2017)
Hanoi, Vietnam, November 15-17, 2017 (

first took place in 1997 in Canberra and since then, the Asia-Pacific
IES Symposiums have become prestigious incubators of research ideas,
as well as facilitators of research collaboration. The Symposiums aim
to bring together researchers and practitioners from countries of the
Asia-Pacific Region in the fields of intelligent systems and
evolutionary computation to present ongoing work, exchange ideas, and
discuss future collaboration. Researchers from elsewhere interested in
collaboration with researchers from the Asia-Pacific Region are most

IES 2017 will be held in Ha Noi, the capital of Vietnam, during
November 15-17, 2017, and organized by the Le Quy Don Technical
University. IES2017 welcomes fundamental science, methodology, method,
and practical application papers in the IES Symposiums’ traditional
range of topics, which includes but is not limited to:
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Life and Societies
Machine Learning
Neural Networks
Data Science and Decision Analytics
Evolutionary and Nature Inspired computation
Game Theory
Human/Brain-Computer Interaction
Agents and Complex Systems
Cognitive and Developmental Systems

Subject: TPNC 2017: 2nd call for papers

TPNC 2017

Prague, Czech Republic

December 18-20, 2017

TPNC is a conference series intending to cover the wide spectrum of
computational principles, models and techniques inspired by
information processing in nature. TPNC 2017 will reserve significant
room for young scholars at the beginning of their career and
particular focus will be put on methodology. The conference aims at
attracting contributions to nature-inspired models of computation,
synthesizing nature by means of computation, nature-inspired
materials, and information processing in nature.

                         Paris, France

The 8th International Conference on Bioinspired Optimization Methods
and their Applications BIOMA 2018 will be held in Paris (France) on
May 16-18, 2018.

BIOMA is one of the main events focusing on the progress of the area
of bioinspired optimization methods and their applications. As in the
seven previous editions, BIOMA 2018 will provide an opportunity to the
international research community in optimization to discuss recent
research results, to develop new ideas and collaborations in a
friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

BIOMA 2018 welcomes papers that cover any aspects of bioinspired
optimization research such as new algorithmic developments,
high-impact applications, new research challenges, theoretical
developments, implementation issues, and experimental studies. BIOMA
2018 strives for a high-quality program that will be completed by a
number of invited talks and special sessions.
