ECJ does multithreading to either evaluate or breed individuals. To breed individuals in the population, ECJ slices up the new population into pieces and assigns each piece to a separate thread to perform breeding. To evaluate individuals in the population, ECJ either slices up the population and assigns each piece to a thread, or it iteratively assigns single individuals or small groups of individuals to each thread.
