Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Application
3MT(r) is a research communication competition where Ph.D. students present their doctoral research to a non-specialist audience using only one single visual aid-all in three minutes. This exercise encourages graduate students to think about their research from an outsider's perspective, hones their presentation skills, and provides a forum for a cross-disciplinary exchange of exciting ideas and information.

HIVE is the bioinformatics tool used by the FDA to research and evaluate clinical trials and another research, and GWU maintains the only operational clone of this platform. There are several projects in our group, the flagship project is BioCompute, which aims to standardize the communication of bioinformatic workflows. An instance of a workflow written in the BioCompute format is called a BioCompute Object (BCO). "I support staff responsible for delivering the administrative, logistical, and programmatic support required to execute the CSWMD's education, policy support, research, and outreach missions. I engage with high-level officials and emerging and senior leaders within the U.S. government on a regularly basis while supporting CSWMD programs and activities. I perform various program management support tasks to execute the Center's education programs, outreach events, policy engagements, online platforms, and research initiatives. Pathway Interns also perform administrative business tasks that supports the Center and student matters. I support events by either supporting staff and/or by leading the planning and coordination for an event. This requires coordinating administrative and logistical arrangements for classes, events and site-visit travel to support the delivery of CSWMD's education, policy support, research, and outreach programs. Requires developing detailed plans, project tasks, staff assignments, establishing deadlines and schedules to ensure the proper sequencing of events, tracking of processes, and costs. I also assist with conducting research that supports senior staff responsible for arranging, conducting, and delivering WMD education, policy, and research engagements. Participates in regular information and planning sessions, maintains productive interactions with staff, reports on the status and progress of work accomplished, and monitors work in progress. The research support provided is dependent on the requirements of the staff member requesting research support. "
