TITLE: IT TECHNICIAN I
GRADE: S-18
Salary Range: $20.72 - $34.54 Hourly
Hours: 25 hours/week for three months and ability to work flexible hours.
Location: Fairfax Government Center, Herrity Building

Fairfax County Land Development Services is looking to hire a bright and talented IT professional interested in providing support with our Windows 10 operating system migration. The ideal candidate must have the ability to work flexible hours Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 AM - 4 PM.  Schedule could vary depending on class schedule.  They will also need to possess a level of technology understanding to act in an IT capacity while providing exceptional customer service to non-technical customers.

Illustrative Duties: Assists with deploying, installing, configuring, migrating, upgrading, moving, and administering end user IT systems and components; Image end user systems with current Windows operating systems; Migrate users’ data and appropriate software; Creates/updates icons for each user’s profile; Creates/updates users’ printers; Educate end users appropriately; Troubleshoot migration problems related to device system hardware/software and coordinate problem resolution with manager; Performs password and other various levels of security support on appropriate systems.

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: Graduation from high school; plus either one year specialized IT experience or two years’ general IT experience in the installation and troubleshooting of PCs, laptops, and tablets in a Windows environment; OR Possession of an associate’s degree in computer science or related field.

Necessary Special Requirements: The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer and must be legally eligible for employment in the United States.

Note: This position may not exceed 899 hours per calendar year. Individuals in these positions are not eligible to earn leave or receive holiday pay. This position does not offer health benefits.
