Dear Students,

Wireless networking group (led by Dr. Song Min Kim) in the department of computer science is looking for a student with experience in PCB design. This task is to build a customized PCB, by combining two existing boards (main controller board + RF board) into one. Schematics for both main controller and RF boards are available, where merging the two board will be the task. Moreover, the current RF board provides received signal via LVDS interface -- the new combined board should be equipped with circuitry to retrieve this data and provide it to the main controller.

The position is for the summer of 2018 (5/25– 8/24) for 20hr/wk, at the GRA rate (approx. $7000 stipend). The schedule and hours are subject to adjustments as needed.
Upon completion, if you are interested, continuing research in the group may as well be discussed.

Minimum Requirement:

  * Experience with in-field experiments of PCB design and testing tools (PCB design tools and oscilloscopes)

Preferred Qualifications:

  * Experience of dealing with LVDS signal
  * Experience of bring up SoC
  * Good understanding of RF chip
  * Good understanding of ARM core

If interested please contact Dr. Song Min Kim ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) and Yoon Chae ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).
In the mail please have your CV attached and clearly describe your experience in related projects.

Best,

Jammie
