You are invited to attend both talks today given by Tenure-track Faculty Candidate :

Dr. Bryan Black, PhD
Research Scientist
Department of Bioengineering
University of Texas at Dallas

Teaching Seminar
Today, February 6 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Peterson Hall 2000
(videoconferencing to SciTech, KJH 254)

Lecture title: Bioelectric systems – Lecture 1 - The biological basis for bioelectricity

Lecture abstract: During this meeting, we will construct a rudimentary biological-/electrical circuit-based cell model which includes the phospholipid bilayer membrane, ionic solutions, proteins, and generic ion channels. In doing so, we will develop a better understanding of the biological basis for transmembrane ionic conduction and lay the groundwork for understanding electrogenic cellular phenomena.

Today, February 6 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Exploratory Hall L111
(videoconferencing to SciTech, KJH 254)

His talk is entitled:
Neural Interfaces - engineered for better understanding and treatment of chronic pain conditions.
