The CLS program is funded through the U.S. Department of State and supports intensive summer study of critical languages overseas. This is a prestigious and highly selective fellowship that supports students who are committed to becoming fluent in a critical language. The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students in all fields of study. Must be a US citizen to apply. The following languages are offered: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu. Dr. Kay Agoston is the campus advisor for graduate students. Dr. LaNitra Berger is the campus advisor for undergraduates.
