The CLS program is funded through the U.S. Department of State and supports intensive summer study of critical languages overseas. This is a prestigious and highly selective fellowship that supports students who are committed to becoming fluent in a critical language. The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students in all fields of study.  Must be a US citizen to apply.

The following languages are offered:  Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu.

Dr. Kay Agoston is the campus advisor for graduate students. Dr. LaNitra Berger is the campus advisor for undergraduates.

Almost all of the information you need to begin an application is located on the website. Please note that the deadline is in mid-November, so you should review the information quickly and decide if you are going to apply.
