I just learned from a friend that Converse College  (A women's college in South Carolina) is advertising for an assistant professor of US history.  The field is both expansive and fairly flexible. I have attached a link to the position posting in case anyone is interested.  Teaching would be a really important part of this job, and-although the ad doesn't mention it specifically-I think a cover letter could make a good case could for hiring a Mason Ph.D. because of our emphasis on Digital History.
