Restaurants, nightclubs, cafes, and karaoke rooms are often open 24/7, making South Korea’s nightlife vibrant and exciting. Whether you are looking for a night-stroll by the Han river or a dancing all-night long at a club, there is always something to do. The areas of Itaewon, Hongdae, and Sinchon are hotspots for nightlife in Seoul and are just a few subway stops apart from each other. Yonsei University in Sinchon is in the center of the youth hub and is a popular place for university students to have fun. The streets are filled with Korean barbecues, karaokes, and unique boutiques.

Myeongdong
If you can't find it here, you won't find it anywhere

If you’re a fan of shopping, Myeongdong is the place to be. Walking through the its bustling streets, you will hear a multitude of languages and see foreigners from all over the world. Known as a popular shopping area for all South Korea visitors, Myeongdong will overwhelm and excite you with its wide variety of shops. From clothes, to accessories, to K-pop merchandise - this area never sleeps. Myeongdong is also home to Namsan Tower, which is known to be one of Seoul’s best and most beautiful attractions. Experience a night time panoramic view of Seoul and a place a “love lock” among the sea of locks that surround the tower in order to seal your love. It is said that as long as the lock is secured to the tower, your love will endure.

Cheonggyecheon Stream
Relaxing calm in a whirlwind hustle and bustle

Walking along the Cheonggyecheon Stream, located in Seoul, is a relaxing and fun way to destress amidst city life. The stream stretches for about 7 miles, starting at the Chonggye Plaza and flowing into the Hangang River. Perfect for a romantic stroll or family outing, the river’s nighttime laser and light shows makes the water change to a rainbow of colors. With a variety of activities, events, and attractions - there is always something to do in a city that never sleeps.

About Brooke

Brooke Finnicum is a sophomore Communication major with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Tourism and Events Management. During high school, Brooke was an exchange student in Seoul, South Korea for two months through a critical language scholarship program. Her passion for Korean culture and language led to her to studying abroad in South Korea again – this time at Mason Korea<http://masonkorea.gmu.edu/> during her spring semester as a freshman. She enjoyed immersing herself within the Korean culture and traveling throughout the country. She hopes to become fluent in Korean someday and incorporate her language skill within her career.
