Dear Students,
Welcome to the start of a new semester! I have a few reminders for you.

Monday Sept. 5 is Labor Day holiday, and classes do not meet. Next week will begin on Tuesday Sept. 6 with your regular schedule.

Tuesday Sept. 6 is the last day to add or drop a class with no tuition penalty.
Please check your fall 2016 schedule now using Patriot Web, under the "Registration" area, Student Schedule. Be sure that you are registered for all of your credits, and check that the instructor, number of credits, course number, etc. appears correctly. Any corrections will need to be made by Sept. 6. This includes lab rotations, directed studies credits and proposal/thesis/dissertation credits. You have until midnight on 9/6 to adjust your schedule using Patriot Web, but if you need to submit a registration form or request a CRN I will only be in the office until 5:00 pm. . . Please plan accordingly.

Columbus Day holiday is Monday October 10. Monday classes and labs meet on Tuesday Oct. 11. Tuesday classes do not meet that week. Want to know when final exams will be held? The full academic calendar can be found on http://registrar.gmu.edu/calendars/fall-2016-semester/

Nine (9) credits per semester is considered full time for graduate study. If you are a GTA or GRA you are considered full time with six (6) graduate-level credits.

September 30 is the last day to file your graduation application on Patriot Web if you are planning to finish and graduate this fall. If you applied to graduate in a previous term and didn't finish, you will need to re-file for graduation on Patriot Web. The online graduation application is found under the "Student Services" section, Student Records link.

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.

Best wishes for a successful semester ~
Diane St. Germain
