Dear Students,
Welcome to the start of a new semester! I have a few announcements for you.

Monday Sept. 7 is Labor Day holiday, and classes do not meet. Next week will begin on Tuesday Sept. 8 with your regular schedule.

Tuesday Sept. 8 is the last day to add or drop a class with no tuition penalty.
Please check your fall 2015 schedule now using Patriot Web, under the "Registration" area, Student Schedule. Be sure that you are registered for all of your credits, and check that the instructor, number of credits, course number, etc. appears correctly. You have until midnight to adjust your schedule using Patriot Web (but I will only be in the office until 5:00 pm).

Nine (9) credits is considered full time for graduate study. If you are a GTA or GRA you are considered full time with six (6) graduate-level credits.

BONUS: We have added a seminar to the fall 2015 schedule! You can register for it until October 26, since it will meet the last half of the fall semester.
BIOL 695 (Master's students) / BIOS 704 (PhD students) "Epigenetics", 1 credit with Dr. Karl Fryxell as instructor. The course meets Wed 4:30-7:10 at the Science & Tech (Prince William) campus, for 5 weeks only, and there is no final exam. The course dates are 10/28 through 12/9 (no class on 11/25 - included in the Thanksgiving holiday). Please see the Fall 2015 Schedule of Classes to obtain the CRN and register.

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.

Best wishes for a successful semester ~
Diane St. Germain
