Hello all:

African and African American Studies and Women and Gender Studies present
the 2012 Sojourner Truth Lecture with two upcoming events. On Wednesday
February 29th, 2012, as a preface to the actual lecture the next day, there
will be a film screening of "Scarred Justice: The Orangeburg Massacre 1968"
in the Johnson Center Cinema at 7:00PM. Filmmaker, activist, and writer Judy
F. Richardson will be present to discuss the film.

On Thursday March 1st, 2012 at 3:00PM in Mason Hall Room D3 A&B, the
Sojourner Truth Lecture will be delivered with a dialogue between
Richardson, and writer and activist, Betty G. Robinson. Both women are
former members of the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), and
will share their experiences as women during the Civil Rights Movement.
Associate professor of History& Art History, Jennifer Ritterhouse, will
moderate the discussion. The lecture will be followed by a book signing and
reception in the atrium of Mason Hall.

Please join us for one or both events, and by all means share this
information with your colleagues, students, and peers. Thank you for your time.
