Call for Manuscripts—Washington History Magazine
Washington History is now accepting submissions! The richly illustrated, semiannual, refereed magazine publishes articles on the history of the Washington, DC metropolitan area for
an audience of scholars, students, and the general public. To learn more, review the submission guidelines here: http://dchistory.org/manage/assets/uploads/WH-Submission-Guidelines-12-21.pdf.
Washington History accepts several different kinds of manuscripts, including thesis-driven analyses; descriptive articles on previously unpublished information; first-hand accounts
or reminiscences of events or figures in Washington history; and picture essays. It also publishes brief, themed features of 1,400 words or less that introduce readers to informative and engaging vignettes in local history.
The magazine includes reviews of books, blogs, and websites; if you are interested in reviewing any of the above, please email [log in to unmask] with
a list of your areas of interest and a statement of your qualifications.
Washington History accepts submissions on all topics related to the history of our nation's capital region. In the coming year, the magazine is particularly interested in submissions
that engage issues of autonomy, statehood, and self-governance in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the DC Home Rule Act.
