Dominion offers Master’s and Ph.D. students the ability to work closely with their teams on projects that define how they operate the electric grid. Past intern projects include:

 

• Formulating PMU use cases
• Power quality and harmonics analysis
• FACTS performance verification
• Solar PV control schemes
• Microgrid design
• Real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulation of power relay operation
• Economic dispatch of future renewable scenarios

 

Electric Transmission will have several more internship opportunities across ET Planning and Operations teams.
