We are pleased to share with you details regarding our upcoming Health & Science Career Week!  Health & Science Career Week is coming up April 11-14! 

University Career Services has developed a week of events to prepare students for a career working in the fields of health and science and to introduce you to resources to help you in this process.

 

Schedule of Events

 

Monday, April 11th

 

4pm – Making Your Way in Health and Science – Merten 1202

Start exploring your career in the health and science field. Learn about academic paths, ways to experience different options, and resources to identify possible careers/occupations. Develop one next step in designing your professional future, and find other events you can attend to learn more specifically about a particular career.

 

Tuesday, April 12th

 

12pm-4pm – Health and Science Practice Interview Day – SUB I, 3400

Want to practice your interview skills without the pressure? Meet one-on-one with health and science employers to improve and perfect your interviewing skills. You must register on Handshake by April 3rd – spots are limited! Interview slots will be 20-minutes in length.

 

6pm - Day in the Life of a Scientist -  Virtual

Interested in learning more about careers in the sciences? Hear from professionals who are currently working in a variety of science careers to hear what their day-to-day looks like and to learn what it takes to land a job in those fields!

 

Wednesday, April 13th

 

11am – 2pm – Health & Science Career Fair – The Hub Ballroom

Network with employers and learn about job and internship opportunities in the health and science industries. View the employers in Handshake!

Notable Employers: Meso Scale Diagnostics – Research and Development, DLH, Achieve Beyond, Duke University Health System, Fairfax County Government – Community Services Board, Infinity ABA and Autism Services, Prince George’s County (MD) Public Schools, VCU Health System, Wetlands Studies and Solutions, Inc.

 

Thursday, April 14th

 

12pm – ORISE STEM Roadshow – Virtual

Join us for an information session to learn more about ORISE (the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education) internships and fellowships hosted by a variety of federal research facilities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

 

1:30pm – Sustainability Careers Panel – Virtual

Want to learn more about jobs in the sustainability industry? Learn from professionals in the environmental and sustainability space to gain industry insights and to ask them your career questions! 

 

4pm – Health & Science Alumni Panel - Virtual

Mason alums who are working in health and science will be answering your questions about careers in the field and life after Mason.  Attendees will be eligible to win a $100 gift card from the Mason Alumni Association.
