Subject: Please share with your students - INFORMS Webinar!

Hello John:

I hope you’re doing well. INFORMS is hosting a webinar this month that I’m sure will be of interest to many of your students. The topic is Transitioning from Student to Professional. We have two speakers – one who followed the academic path and one who followed the practitioner path. They plan to share how they decided which path to take and what helped them along the way. Since you are in direct contact with many more students than we are, we were hoping you would share the information with them. As we believe this information could be of great benefit to your students, we would really appreciate it if you could send an email or post it on your page. Here is some sample copy that you can use:

INFORMS, the leading international association for Operations Research & Analytics professionals, is hosting a free webinar titled Transitioning from Student to Professional. Join us on Thursday, February 24th at 1:00pm EST to hear two professionals talk about their experiences and share their advice: Dr. Banafsheh Behzad, Assistant Professor at University of California Long Beach and Xiaonan Shang, Data Analyst at the University of Tulsa. If you’re undecided whether to pursue a career in academia or industry, Banafsheh and Xiaonan can speak from both perspectives.

Thank you again for sharing this information with your students. It’s very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Jill
