Dear Stat Graduate Students,

Happy New Year and welcome back to school.

Enclosed, please find the syllabus for STAT 689, a unique graduate course by Professor Mary Meyer. Dr. Meyer is a master of the subject and one of the authors of the well-known package cGAM. All MS and Ph.D. students are encouraged to sign up for this class. She will start from the fundamentals of linear models, including linear mixed-effects models (LMM) and generalized linear models (GLM), to statistical practice and techniques related to constraint estimation and inference. You should also learn optimization techniques and nonparametric regression; all are essential knowledge that a statistics graduate should know.

Hi Jiayang,  attached is the syllabus.

Iím planning to spend a couple of weeks doing a thorough review of linear models, to make sure everyone is starting strong.
