The deadline to apply to the Joseph Schumpeter Fellowship for the 2022 Spring semester is fast approaching. Applications for the fellowship are due on January 5, 2022.

The Joseph Schumpeter Fellowship is a competitive, renewable fellowship program for undergraduate students at George Mason University. Fellowships are open to full- and part-time degree-seeking Mason students from any discipline who are interested in studying key ideas in political economy and learning how to utilize these ideas in academic and policy research.
The Schumpeter Fellowship is a total award of up to $1,000 per semester, which includes a stipend, meals, and reading materials. Fellows also have the opportunity to get advice on research, jobs, and graduate school. Once again, the deadline to apply is January 5, 2022.

Interested in learning more? Check out our alumni spotlights of former Joseph Schumpeter Fellows Sadaf Dastan, Alexis Garrettson, and Timothy O'Shea to read in their own words how the program enriched their undergraduate experience and made them better-prepared to pursue their career goals after graduation.

For undergraduates interested in pursuing a graduate degree, Mercatus also has several fellowship opportunities for graduate school. We have our PhD Fellowship and MA Fellowship programs for those students who want to pursue a graduate degree in economics at Mason, as well as our Adam Smith, Frédéric Bastiat, Oskar Morgenstern, and Don Lavoie Fellowship programs for students looking to attend other universities and disciplines.
We invite you to pass along this information to any interested students or to any professors that might have students interested in our programs. If you have any questions, please let me know.
