Biomechanics Research Internship

The Department of Defense (DoD) is offering a postgraduate internship opportunity at the U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL).

Anticipated start date: Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and internships will be filled as qualified candidates are identified.

National Program Participant Internship (Spring 2022)

The DEVELOP experience is focused on both conducting and delivering an applied Earth science feasibility project to an end-user. DEVELOP participants work on a team to research the use of NASA Earth observations for environmental community concerns. Participants will conduct literature review on the scope, methodologies, and types of NASA remote-sensing data applicable to their project. They will utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote-sensing data to conduct application projects.

Deadline: 01/31/2022

Duration: 10 weeks with maximum of 29 hrs/week

Eligibility: Must be at least 18 years of age and U.S citizen

The summer 2021 term will be conducted virtually, and selected candidates will only be authorized to telework from within the continental United States.

Reliability Engineering Internship

Located at the E. & J. Gallo Winery’s headquarters in Modesto, California, this facility is the center for production, distribution, and corporate decision making for the Domestic and International businesses. Interns work with experienced engineers to learn and assist in the below activities, including developing and testing potential solutions to ongoing systemic issues, as well as putting new processes in place. Interns will work in one or several of the following areas: Facility and Reliability Maintenance, Production, and Wine & Spirits.

Location: Modesto or Fresno, CA

Duration: 6 months from July – December 2022

Minimum requirements:

1.        High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate

2.        Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in the School of Engineering; or a Bachelor’s degree from the School of Engineering

3.        Available for the entire duration of this internship program – July 2022 through December 2022

Biomechanics Research Internship

The Department of Defense (DoD) is offering a postgraduate internship opportunity at the U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL). As an ORISE participant, you will join a community of scientists and researchers in an effort to learn and apply experimental methods, motion analysis algorithms, equipment operations, and various techniques involved in human exposure and response research.

Eligibility: BS or MS graduates within the past two years or no later than 8/31/2021.
                  BS in biomedical engineering plus 2 year experience in a kinesiology focused research program

                  MS in biomedical engineering plus experience in motion capture, physiological assessments, and musculoskeletal injury research or similar to the above experience and training with justification and description
