Dear colleagues,
As you know, JSM 2021 will be a virtual conference. As a part of this, Sandia National Laboratories will be hosting a virtual career panel discussion, Being a statistician at Sandia National Labs. We think that this virtual panel discussion is a great opportunity for your students to learn about an exciting career opportunity (or for you to learn more about Sandia and tell future students).
Members from several groups practicing statistics, data science, and ML across Sandia will be included in the panel. The panel has several topics to start of the discussion – about the work at a national laboratory, the workplace culture, and life in Albuquerque, NM or Livermore, CA – but there will also be time for the audience to jump in and ask questions.
We would love the chance to talk to you and your students. Sandia has opportunities at a variety of levels: Student interns and post-doctoral researchers, as well as regular employees at both the MS and PhD level. Career growth and advancement are possible at all levels. More information about Sandia can be found at www.sandia.gov, http://www.sandia.gov/datascience/, and about the Statistical Sciences group at http://www.sandia.gov/statistics.
Please distribute this announcement to your students and any other interested individuals.
