Dear PhD Students,

Under the new PhD degree requirements, all first-year PhD CS students take CS 701 "Research Experience in Computer Science" during the Spring semester. They work on a preliminary research project under the supervision of a CS faculty member, prepare a written report, and also make a brief presentation to the entire department at the end of the semester.

Because of the current online instruction settings, just like last year, the CS 701 students prepared (~10-minute) videos about their CS 701 projects. The presentations are now available at

Congratulations to the students and many thanks to the CS 701 supervisors who guided the students.

Please note: some of the submissions are in narrated powerpoint (pptx) format. For those, you need to download the pptx file (by clicking on the download icon on top right of the screen), open the pptx file, and start the slide show in order to listen to the narration.
