Good Morning, PhD History Students!

As you're likely aware, fall registration opens for graduate students today. For anyone interested in enrolling into HIST 696 Clio Wired: History of New Media, please note that this fall we are offering a hybrid: an on-campus section (HIST 696-001, CRN: 80202) combined with a synchronous online section (HIST 696-DL1, CRN: 83496).

You'll find that these course sections have been set up with controlled enrollment requiring a departmental override. This is because registration into HIST 696 is done on a priority basis, with first priority going to PhD students, then to MA program students who need it to graduate the same semester (fall). After that, enrollment is approved on a first-come, first-served basis as determined by the time/date stamp of their email enrollment request starting on the day registration opens.

The Clio Wired course is consistently very popular, with many MA students waiting multiple semesters for the opportunity to enroll. Therefore, in an effort to help me keep the list of available seats up to date and continue to prioritize the enrollment requests as they come in, I'd like to ask you to please let me know as soon as possible if you intend to enroll into HIST 696 this fall and which section you prefer (on-campus or online) so I can secure your seat in the course and provide you with the appropriate override you'll need to enroll via Patriot Web.

Thanks very much!
Emily
