Subject: Individual development plan

Dear Biosciences Students,

I trust this email finds you and your loved ones well and safe.

We are asking you to fill out your annual update of the Individual Development Plan. An Individual Development Plan helps students and mentors to systematically identify training needs and competencies, and to establish goals for your PhD program. Research shows that students with a structured plan are more satisfied, more productive and have fewer conflicts with their PIs.

Please submit the following documents to Kim Harris ([log in to unmask]) by April 15th, 2021

All students please submit your current CV in .docx format (see page 12 for template)

First-year students: read the document in attachment (pages 1-5) and complete the program of study (https://science.gmu.edu/academics/departments-units/systems-biology/graduate-programs/programs-study) if you havenít already done so.

Second-year students and above: complete the document in attachment (pg 6-11). Please note that the form includes a self-evaluation and a mentor evaluation.

Kim and I will be happy to help you fill out the document or to answer to any question.

Sincerely,

Ale
