Cognitive Radio (CR) provides a promising solution to overcome the spectrum scarcity problem in
wireless communications. It supports dynamic spectrum allocation feature to drive next generation
communication. Spectrum sensing is the most prominent function that detects the presence of a
signal in a radio channel in CR. The primary objective of spectrum sensing is to detect the low
signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) signal,
hidden in thermal noise. The secondary users
are equipped with batteryoperated
efficient spectrum sensing for real time deployment. Compressive sensing has been emerged as one of the
promising signal processing technique for spectrum sensing.
