Good morning Hugh,

It was nice talking. As I mentioned in our phone conversation, I work for the IRSs Statistics of Income (SOI) Division in Washington DC.  As well, I am a graduate of the GMU, MS in Data Analytic Program (Spring 2018).

SOI periodically has positions open in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science and we’d like to start a partnership with GMU so that when these positions are available, you all are notified and so that we get quality applicants.

Currently, there is a position for a mathematical statistician and the close date is 2/24/2021.  The job is open to ‘U.S. Citizens, nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.’ Ordinarily, we hire graduates with a degree in either mathematics or statistics for this position.  However, if you do have data analytics students wanting to apply for this position, please have them attach a summary of the class descriptions with their application so that it is clear how they qualify (example attached).
