Dear History Colleagues:
Through the SUNY PRODiG Fellowship, SUNY Brockport's Department of History is serving as a landing place for any interested late-stage pre-doctoral (ABD) or post-doctoral students from historically under-represented, minority backgrounds. I have heard good things about this SUNY program and the History Department at SUNY Brockport would be delighted to welcome a new colleague as a PRODiG Fellow. More information and a link are below. Any interested students should please feel free to contact me with any questions about SUNY Brockport. Feel free to circulate this announcement as well. My understanding is that there is no set deadline, however the Provost of SUNY Brockport communicated that the administration would begin looking at applicants in mid-March 2021.
With good wishes,
SUNY Pipeline to Academic Careers
SUNY has created a Comprehensive College Consortium to fund late-stage pre-doctoral (ABD) and post-doctoral students interested in exploring academic careers. The consortium represents a collaboration among all SUNY comprehensive sector campuses. The initiative creates a more robust pathway into the academy for historically under-represented minority faculty in any discipline and women in STEM fields. The PRODiG Fellowship Initiative is a model program designed to raise the pace of degree completion and build a more robust pipeline to the professoriate. Personalized mentoring is a key component of the program to develop fellows' pedagogical readiness for future faculty appointments in addition to support for their scholarship and research.
Deadline is expected to be mid-March 2021.
