Sent on behalf of Ann Garner, University Career Services:
Good Afternoon,
I’d like to share two important opportunities that will take place next week. Please highlight these opportunities for your students as appropriate. Both of these opportunities are ideal for students who have been
unable to gain experience and/or build skills with employers because of COVID.
Tuesday, November 17. 10-11:00am
Infosys is hosting a virtual session for undergraduate and graduate students,
and faculty to invite participation in their ideathon, “Summer of Ideas.” The Summer
of Ideas initiative will redefine learning experience for university students worldwide. This global eight-week ideathon, powered by Infosys digital learning platform Wingspan, will help the global student and academic community fulfill the gap of learning
opportunities as a result of the disruption caused by COVID-19. Infosys is interested in collaborating with faculty too. Use this link to participate in the event on Nov 17 - https://infosys.webex.com/meet/akshat.mathur01

Splunk4Rookies (see attached flyer) is an opportunity to discover
the value of Splunk, hands-on, in a matter of hours. Attendees get an introduction to Splunk, along with live experience creating a Splunk app and dashboard based on multiple use cases. Splunk makes machine data accessible across an organization by correlating
real-time data in a searchable repository from which users can generate graphs, reports, alerts, dashboards and visualizations. Splunk is used for application management, security, compliance, and business and web analytics. As of late 2019, Splunk had over
15,000 customers. https://www.splunk.com Students should register
