I get it, I get it: your eyes are starting to bleed from all my long, rambling emails. So I promise to keep this one short and sweet.

Please join us (the Center for Security Policy Studies) for our Fall 2020 Crisis Simulation. This year's simulation is based on a hypothetical - but realistic - militarized crisis in Europe. Think you understand how crisis escalation works? Confident you've mastered Schelling (do you even know who he is???) Well, here's your chance to prove it!

The simulation will run from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm EST on Friday, November 13th; and again from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm EST on Saturday, November 14th. It's entirely virtual, so if you ever wanted to know what it feels like to debate the merits of nuclear annihilation while wearing a bath robe, it's either this or run for President!

I'm attaching a flyer with additional details. You can RSVP here (or cut and paste https://gmu.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_STcB7lUQRUeyNyJvXE1OrQ ). Please note that space is limited and this event is only open to Mason students (so you'll need to register with your Mason email address).

Just in case you need a little extra nudge: this is the same simulation that I built and ran with a team of Schar School PhD students for the NATO Defense College in Rome a few years ago. So it's about as real as you can get (without running for President). Oh, and a few dozen NATO experts couldn't avoid nuclear war... can you?

Best,

Mike
