Life Sciences Future-BioPharm Conference: Dr. Marla Phillips and two QSE students will be presenting this year! They will be discussing the Quality Science Education Program and their experiences. Our Mason Bioengineering department is offering the program through Pathway for Patient Health and this offers an opportunity to learn more about it.  Mason BIOE students may register for FREE!  There is NO COST for students to attend the conference.  The organizers also placed it on Handshake throughout the United States.

Government Week: This is our biggest industry week each year because federal, state and local governments hire from every discipline from graphic design, to nursing, to economics, to construction engineering, to law enforcement, to wildlife management. This will be a one-week event starting from Monday, September 21 to Friday, September 25.

Corning is Hiring in Manassas: Ceres Nanosciences just won a $6.5M NIH award to increase their manufacturing capabilities for COVID-19 tests, so they are looking to ring on several new interns this fall.
College students must work for a minimum of 24 hours.
Duties: The successful associate will be able to work effectively in a manufacturing environment doing repetitive tasks to fill and package products using aseptic techniques. Duties include measuring and dispensing product into vials, hand applying labels to the vials and boxing the finished products.

Working conditions: Stand for long periods of time. Wear PPE as required: gowning, safety glasses, gloves, mask, etc. Able to lift up to 25lbs

Requirements: Must be 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent. No experience required. Must successfully pass drug screen and background checks. Must be detail oriented and able to follow instructions.

Hourly pay rate: $13 - $15 depending on experience
