QEP - Quality Enhancement Plan
As part of Mason’s reaffirmation of accreditation, Mason must develop a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), which is a five-year initiative focused on improving student
outcomes/student success. On Thursday, March 26th, 2020, at 12 p.m., the lead champions of the top four QEP topic proposals will present their proposals to the University community.
After the presentations are completed, the slide decks for each presentation, as well as a recording of the entire presentation session, will be posted to the QEP website (see above). There, you can also find a link to provide comments/feedback and to rank
the proposals. Ranking and feedback must be received by 4/17/20. The final QEP topic should be announced by the end of the semester.

PROV701: Preparing for Careers in the Academy

Mason Graduate Interdisciplinary Conference -
CANCELLED
On behalf of the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GAPSA) and Graduate Student Life, we are writing to inform you that the Mason Graduate Interdisciplinary
Conference is unfortunately cancelled for this year. This decision was made by GAPSA’s Executive Board in response to the University’s decision that all campus events will be cancelled
through May 18, 2020, due to the coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak.
This was a difficult decision as the Mason Graduate Interdisciplinary Conference is a much anticipated annual event where Mason graduate and professional students gather to showcase their research to the wider campus community. Although we were able to reschedule
the conference once, due to the university’s recent decision to extend the cancellation of on-campus events, we have decided it is best at this point to cancel the conference.
The Mason Graduate Interdisciplinary Conference will be back next year. Please send an

Commonwealth
Coastal and Marine Policy Fellowship
Virginia Sea Grant (VASG) and the Virginia Environmental Endowment (VEE) are now soliciting applications for the 2020 Commonwealth Coastal & Marine Policy Fellowship.
This 12-month paid fellowship is intended to provide educational and professional development opportunities for post-graduates interested in Virginia’s coastal and marine resources.
The application deadline is April 24, 2020, at 5 p.m. EST.

Doctoral
Scholars Program - DEADLINE EXTENDED
The SREB-State Doctoral Scholars Program (DSP) goes beyond traditional fellowship programs. In addition to financial support, each scholar receives a commitment
by the host academic department to provide quality mentoring, professional development opportunities and activities designed to hone classroom teaching skills.
The application deadline has now been extended until April 30th, 2020.

Department
of Energy Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program
The SCGSR program provides supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to pursue part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE laboratory/facility
in areas that address scientific challenges central to the Office of Science mission. The research opportunity is expected to advance the graduate students’ overall doctoral thesis while providing access to the expertise, resources, and capabilities available
at the DOE laboratories/facilities.
