Subject: CFP: Extended Deadline WVU HGSA Conference 2020

 

Dear History Colleagues,

 

The WVU History Graduate Student Association Conference on April 18 in Morgantown, West Virginia has extended its deadline for paper submissions. To apply, submit a 250-word abstract and a CV by March 15, 2020. Abstracts can be emailed to [log in to unmask]We welcome any presentation submissions, in various fields, geographies, or periods, that address the broad themes of circulation (goods, ideas, products), conflict (war, violence, or their effects on society), and cooperation (alliance making, diplomacy, acculturation). Also, attached to this email is a flyer with pertinent information for the conference. 

 

We’re happy to announce that the keynote lecture will be delivered by Michael Woods, Associate Professor of History at Marshall University.  The title of his talk is: “Tracking John Van Evrie: How a Canadian-Born Physician Championed Slavery, Popularized the Slogan’ White Supremacy,’ and Built a Business of Bigotry.”
