Abstract: Nearly nine years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake and the subsequent nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. During that time, steady progress has been made towards reconstruction of Fukushima, repopulation of the surrounding areas, and the decommissioning of the plant. In his talk, Mr. Naomi Hirose, Vice Chairman (Fukushima Affairs), will share his insights on the current state of affairs at Fukushima and the future prospects for nuclear energy in Japan.
Bio: Mr. Naomi Hirose, Vice Chairman, Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings - Joined TEPCO in 1976 and worked in a number of management positions including corporate planning and marketing. Became Managing Director in 2010 and President/CEO from 2012 to 2017. BA in Sociology from Hitotsubashi University in 1976 and MBA from Yale School of Management in 1983.
