Best,

Susan

Dear Student,

As you may know, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences is conducting a search for Associate Dean of Graduate Academic Affairs. This role will provide leadership to CHSS’s graduate education efforts, including enrollment growth and research training. You can view the position announcement at https://jobs.gmu.edu/postings/45662, as well as read this CHSS news article for more context about the position in relation to the other associate dean searches: https://chss.gmu.edu/articles/13375.

Four finalists have been identified by the search committee and will be interviewing on campus next week, and we would like to invite graduate students to participate in a dedicated interview session with each candidate.

Below are the dates and candidate names. The graduate student session will be held 1:45-2:30pm each day in Buchanan Hall, Room D201.

  *   Monday, August 5 – Brian Platt
  *   Tuesday, August 6 – Frank Sansosti
  *   Wednesday, August 7 – Andrew Smith
  *   Thursday, August 8 – Jas Sullivan

If you can participate in any of these interviews, please reply to Anjanette Trebing ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>), search coordinator, with the dates you can join. If you could confirm by this Friday morning (August 2), we’d greatly appreciate it. Application materials for candidates will be provided.

Thank you so much for considering this request; your perspective and feedback as graduate students in CHSS are invaluable. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best wishes,

Michele Schwietz,  Search Committee Chair
