Title:      The Nervous system, Vision

Abstract:

This is a teaching demo of an undergraduate level course on physiology for engineers taught in the Bioengineering department.  This specific lecture will concentrate on the anatomy and physiology of the human eye. Online quizzes (Kahoot!) and MATLAB demos are included, so it is recommended that you bring your laptop so you can play along with the class.

Biography:

Nathan Neckel received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the Catholic University of America in May 2008.  He is interested as translational neuroscientist with a focus on motor recovery following neurological injury.   Nathan has held teaching assignments as an adjunct professor in the Bioengineering department, George Mason University and assistant professor in the Neuroscience department, Georgetown University.   He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Georgetown University from January 2008 – April 2013.   He received his Master’s in Bioengineering from Syracuse University in 2000 and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science from University of Virginia in 1999.
