MAY 23 & 30: VEI VETWORKING EVENT

 

VEI’s VETWORKING program provides transitioning military members, Veterans including student Veterans, Guard and Reserve members and their spouses with a free career transition education and personal growth experience. VETWORKING combines elements of networking and mentoring and connects the jobseeker with a support team, taking a deeper dive into the career transition space than the military’s TAP and over 125 jobseekers have completed this experience. The program is broken down into two sessions of three hours each on Tuesday evenings at the MITRE Corporation. Each session runs from 5-8 p.m. and dinner is provided. There is a maximum of 25 per cohort and once signed up you must commit to attending both sessions.

JUNE 8: THE 2ND ANNUAL WARRIOR RIDE

 

This event supports our nation's wounded, ill and injured service members through the services provided by the non-profit organization Serve Our Willing Warriors. Many of them will be participating in the event either as riders, volunteers, or part of the crowd along the road cheering the riders on. Many active duty and Veteran service members may also be participating. These outstanding individuals are professional warriors who have given so much to defend our country.

2019 CFO AWARDS: MICHAEL G. DEVINE HALL OF FAME AWARD HONOREE ANNOUNCED

 

The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) saluted the enormous growth and contributions of Virginia's data center industry at its first-ever Virginia Data Center Awards event on April 24 at Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Va. More than 300 industry executives, economic development professionals and state elected officials attended the sold out event to discuss a strong workforce pipeline and other key factors in maintaining Virginia's competiveness in the industry and to recognize individuals and projects that represent excellence in areas of sustainability, construction, advocacy and community engagement and support.

HONOR FORMER NVTC BOARD MEMBER AND DEAN OF GMU VOLGENAU SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

 

Former NVTC Board Member and Dean of the GMU Volgenau School of Engineering Lloyd Griffiths will officially retire on June 1, 2019. In his honor, GMU is planning to create the “Lloyd Griffith Plaza” outside of the Long and Kimmy Nguyen Engineering Building. Join us in honoring the career and contributions of Dr. Griffiths.
