My recommendation would be to install Ubuntu 18.04 on your laptop as the ONLY operating system for the summer.  This will force you to use it and know it.  Be sure to backup all of your data first.  Better yet  you should just get a second HDD and replace it.
Good luck,

I have been a member of NOVALUG since 2000. Linux today is far easier than it was in the late 90s when I first started with it. If you have an old computer you are not using anymore, use it to make the switch. Once you start doing CS projects on Zeus and get used to it you will not go back.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to learn to operate in Linux? What do I need to know in Linux to be able to participate in the Robotics Club?
This is something I want to learn how to do this summer. I see that GMU has a subscription. I thought about ACE Classes given by Fairfax County Public Schools:
