Good morning! I hope everyone received and enjoyed a (safe) day off because of the snow. I wanted to let you know about a new panel organized by the Center for Security Policy Studies (CSPS) and remind you that this is pretty much your last chance to sign up for two other important and timely events. First, CSPS is hosting a panel on the future of U.S.-Taiwan relations. Speakers will include Dr. Gerrit van der Wees (a career Dutch diplomat / longstanding Taiwan insider), Ian Easton from Project 2049, and, well, me. We will discuss and debate everything from diplomacy to defense to deterrence. The panel is from 12:00 - 1:30 pm on Wednesday, February 27th in the HUB Ballroom (Fairfax campus). Lunch will be provided. So come for the food. And stay for an important conversation about all the reasons you should be paying attention to cross-Strait relations right now.
