Germany Historical Institute Fellowships at Horner Library – Deadline: March 1, 2019
Together with the German Society of Pennsylvania, the German Historical Institute will sponsor two to four fellowships of up to four weeks for research
at the Joseph Horner Memorial Library in Philadelphia between June 1 and July 15, 2019.
The fellowship will be awarded to Ph.D. and M.A. students and advanced scholars without restrictions in research fields or geographical provenance. The "GHI Fellowship at the Horner Library" will provide a travel
subsidy and an allowance of $1,000 to $3,500 depending on the length of the stay and the qualifications of the fellows. Opportunities to research at other special collections in Philadelphia may be available.
American Philosophical Society, Phillips Fund for Native American Research – Deadline: March 1, 2019

The Phillips Fund of the American Philosophical Society provides grants for research in Native American linguistics, ethnohistory, and the history of
studies of Native Americans, in the continental United States and Canada. The grants are intended for such costs as travel, tapes, films, and consultants' fees. Grants are not made for projects in archaeology, ethnography, or psycholinguistics; for the purchase
of permanent equipment; or for the preparation of pedagogical materials. The committee prefers to support the work of younger scholars who have received the doctorate. Applications are also accepted from graduate students for research on master’s theses or
doctoral dissertations. Awards $2,000-$3,500.

The Library Company of Philadelphia and The Historical Society of Pennsylvania will jointly award approximately twenty-five one-month fellowships for
research in residence in either or both collections during the academic year 2019-2020. These two independent research libraries, adjacent to each other in Center City Philadelphia, have complementary collections capable of supporting research in a variety
of fields and disciplines relating to the history of America and the Atlantic world from the 17th through the 19th centuries, as well as Mid-Atlantic regional history to the present. The Stipend for a short-term fellowship is $2,000. Fellowships are tenable
for any one-month period between June 1, 2019 and May 31, 2020. They support dissertation, post-doctoral, and advanced research. For more details, see web site.

The Institute provides annual short-term research fellowships in the amount of $3000 each to doctoral candidates, college and university faculty at every rank, and independent scholars working in the field
of American history for research at archives in New York City. International scholars are eligible to apply.
