Subject: Postdoc opportunity in the history of corruption at UVA

Dear Ms. Gibson,

I’m writing in the hope that you’ll circulate a great postdoctoral fellowship opportunity at UVA to any graduate students in GMU’s history department who are near completion, or recent graduates looking for a position for the next two years. We’re interested in anyone who works on the history of corruption and injustice, in the broadest senses, and we are (truly) open to all time periods, regions, themes, and approaches.

Candidates can view the job on H-Net (https://www.h-net.org/jobs/job_display.php?id=58171) or on UVA’s application portal (https://uva.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/UVAJobs/job/Charlottesville-VA/Postdoctoral-Research-Associate-in-History_R0001380).

The deadline for applications is February 8th, which I realize is soon. But the application is straightforward and the materials themselves (letter, CV, writing sample) are hopefully things candidates have in hand already.

Thanks very much for letting your students know about this opportunity, and I would be glad to answer any questions, from you or from an applicant. I’d be grateful as well if you could forward this message to other departments or programs at GMU whose students might be interested to know about this postdoc.

Best,

David Singerman
