TASC, An Engility Company, is seeking an experienced Operations Research Analyst to support a mission in Springfield, VA.  In this position, you will apply mathematical techniques to solve complex problems and develop quantitative based assessments in support of the Intelligence Community. Additionally you will apply scientifically based approaches to help solve complex problems and issues.  This includes statistical data analysis, knowledge discovery, and mathematical modeling.  You will also provide database consultation, graphical data visualizations, and recommendation for quantitative data selection and collection. Additional duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and apply analytic tools and techniques such as quantitative methods and data visualization, modeling, systems analysis, comparative analysis and database development to solve complex intelligence problems.
  • Provide technical input for the development, evaluation, use and deployment of solutions and improvements to optimize intelligence analysis and production.
  • Provide direct support to intelligence analysts to educate them regarding quantitative and visualization methods to apply towards their analysis.
  • Serve as a vital team member on large analysis projects to perform data cleaning, normalization, validation, as well as develop a wide variety of statistical analysis and visualization products.
  • Prepare and participate in briefings for a variety of audiences ranging from office level, division level, senior level, and director level, as well as agency-wide broadcasted.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have an active/current TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
  • Mimimum 3 years of experience in conducting analysis or providing analytical support to government clients.
  • Understanding of statistical/mathematical analysis in order to apply statistical/ mathematical techniques to real world problems.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to determine the data requirements needed to solve a given problem or issue.
  • Ability to work with a diverse customer base.
  • Ability to explain statistical/mathematical results to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to formulate and ask questions to better understand an issue or problem.
  • Willing to work an entire problem from developing data requirements, building the database or spreadsheet, performing quality checks and data integrity reviews, developing statistical analysis and visualizations, to explaining and briefing results to technical and non-technical audiences and policy makers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel. Experience using Microsoft Office Access, Powerpoint, and Word
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Understanding of databases
  • Simulation or model building skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Programming Skills (e.g., R, Python, VBA, etc.) buil
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS
  • Experience building databases and complex data entry forms.
