Subject: Fairfax County Public Schools- Science Fair Judges Needed

Greetings!

Fairfax County Public Schools will host their 62nd annual Regional Science and Engineering Fair on Saturday, March 18, 2017.  It will be held at Robinson Secondary School.  The fair is comprised of winning science and engineering projects from high school students representing private and public schools in Fairfax County.  Winners of this event will progress to the Virginia state fair and the International Science and Engineering Fair.

Each year 250 judges are urgently needed to evaluate nearly 400 science fair projects in a wide variety of categories ranging from plant sciences to physics and astronomy.  Professionals from government agencies and private organizations from the Washington D.C. metropolitan area participate as Category Judges.  It is desirable that those volunteering to serve as category judges hold an advanced degree or possess extensive academic and/or professional experience in their selected categories.

Not only does judging at the fair help support science education in our local schools, it’s fun!  It also gives judges an opportunity to network with other professionals in their field of expertise.

Interested persons can register online at https://insys.fcps.edu/sciencefair/form_judge.cfm    The last official day to sign up is Saturday, March 4, 2017; however, we do appreciate early registration.  If you have questions or need more information, please contact Linda Peterson at [log in to unmask]

Thank you.
