Just a quick reminder:
The Center for Security Policy Studies welcomes T.X. Hammes at 4:30 pm on Friday, February
10th (Founders Hall 113) as part of its Distinguished Speaker Series. Dr. Hammes, a professor at National
Defense University,
will discuss how new technologies will shape military and state
power in the 21st century. A no host happy hour will follow at O'Sullivan's.
Dr. Hammes has even promised a cameo appearance...(at the happy hour. Obviously, he'll be at the talk).
Two other items of interest:
1) Please take a moment to sign up for the social media links to the Graduate International Security Association (GISA). GISA is a Registered Student Organization that networks students
and enriches the Schar School graduate study experience in close coordination with the Center for Security Policy Studies with a robust series of speakers, social events, simulations, and more. GISA is open to graduate students in Master's and PhD programs
whose primary focus is security or strategic studies. Request to join at both of the pages below to receive official updates, event and meeting information, useful articles, and more!

2) The University of Pennsylvania's Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law is now accepting applications for its (paid)
summer internship program. Applications are due by February 17th. The program seeks graduate students
"interested in examining the intersection of rule of law values, applied ethics, and national security." Our own Carlton Haelig is a fellow with
the program. He's also helping with the interview process. Please feel free to reach out to him directly with any questions.
