Best known as the inventor of the popular Super Soaker water gun and his work on high-performance Nerf dart guns, Dr. Johnson has received more than a hundred patents, including
next-generation battery technology and other inventions related to clean energy. Economist Dr. Lisa Cook will lead a conversation with him about his fascinating engineering career, ranging from his work at Oak Ridge National Lab, the U.S. Air Force, and NASA’s
Jet Propulsion Lab to his work today as president and CEO of Johnson Research and Development Co., Inc., in Atlanta. After the program, guests will have the opportunity to talk with Dr. Johnson informally during a light reception as well as to enjoy inventive
hands-on activities in the Lemelson Center’s Spark!Lab.
