Funding Opportunity:  Tactical Defense Space Reconnaissance BAA

This solicitation is a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) and Government Sources Sought Announcement (GSSA) from the National Reconnaissance Office’s (NRO), Mission Integration Directorate (MID), Tactical Defense Space Reconnaissance (TacDSR) Program for Combat Systems Integration (CSI).

The TacDSR CSI program integrates National Technical Means (NTM) technology into combat systems, platforms, or architectures to address current and emerging needs of the CCMDs and Services. CSI projects include prototype integration into vehicles, aircraft, ships, weapons, mission planning tools, special operations systems or platforms, ground stations, cubesats, and combat support equipment.  CSI also delivers capabilities that bridge gaps in joint, theater, and National Systems Data (NSD) dissemination capabilities through the use of communications and networking technology. CSI solutions may consist of software algorithms, hardware, exploitation tools, or system engineering solutions that support warfighter requirements.

Jessica Lin and Huzefa Rangwala of the Computer Science Department received $74K from Strategic Analysis, Inc. and the Naval Research Laboratory for their project, “User Information Demand Modeling.”

Elise Miller-Hooks Receives Funding from U Maryland and U.S. Dept. of Transportation

Elise Miller-Hooks of the Sid and Reva Dewberry Department of Civil, Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering received $148K from the University of Maryland and the U.S. Department of Transportation for her project, “University Transportation Centers Program - National.”

David Lattanzi of the Sid and Reva Dewberry Department of Civil, Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering received $50K from the National Science Foundation for his project, “I-Corps: Bringing Digital Twin Technology to the Asset Management Community.”

Siddhartha Sikdar, Parag Chitnis, and Wil Joiner of the Bioengineering Department received $400K from the National Science Foundation for their project, “CPS:Synergy:Collaborative Research: Closed-loop Hybrid Exoskeleton utilizing Wearable Ultrasound Imaging Sensors for Measuring Fatigue.”
