Study Skills & Packing

Monday – November 14th

Learn about how best to prepare for your study abroad experience! Mason Study Abroad staff will share tips and best practices with regards to study skills and packing.

Budgeting 1: Planning a Semester Abroad

Tuesday – November 15th

This interactive workshop will aid students in planning for potential expenses during their time abroad. Participants will work in small groups to create a study abroad budget for winter, summer, and semester-long programs. Laptop or tablet recommended.

Budgeting 2: Weekend Trips and Additional Travel

Wednesday – November 16th

This interactive workshop will aid students in developing and budgeting for weekend trips during their study abroad experience based on provided scenarios. Participants will work in small groups to weigh both time and cost when making decisions. Laptop or tablet recommended.

Cultural Shock & Well-Being

Thursday – November 17th

This interactive workshop aims to help students cope with cultural shock in a new environment and provides best practices for a student’s well-being during their time abroad.
