Do you know a Virginia college student who might have an innovative transportation idea? If so, be sure to tell them about SHARK TANK: Transportation Edition.

The Virginia Governor's Transportation Conference<http://www.vatransconf.org/>, the annual pre-eminent gathering of more than 1,000 transportation professionals from all areas of the Commonwealth, will be held Oct 19 - 21 in Arlington. This year's conference will feature a first-time ever conference event - SHARK TANK: Transportation Edition.

Students are invited to submit an innovative transportation/related idea, design or invention for consideration. Selected individuals and teams will join others at a main conference session and present the concept to a team of transportation "sharks" - professionals who know the industry and recognize the best ideas. The individual or team with the most innovative and exciting presentation could win up to $15,000. Winnings will be based on the sharks' determination of the potential market value of the idea.

This competition is open to students currently enrolled at a Virginia college, including incoming freshman. During this interactive session, students should be prepared to bring their "A" game to survive the bite of the sharks!

The Governor's Transportation Conference is offering discounted registration for students who want to attend the conference. Visit the website for additional details.
