Oxford: A
Unique Tutorial System
The Oxford tutorial system gives participants unparalleled individual attention through weekly one-on-one meetings with an Oxford scholar. Each student is guided through
an intellectual exploration of their chosen discipline. Tutorials are similar in structure to intensive directed reading courses or graduate independent studies at George Mason University. Tutorials are offered in the social sciences, theoretical sciences,
business, and the humanities. During tutorials, students are expected to do substantial independent library work and periodically produce written essays and oral presentations.

Florence: In
the Center of Everything
Participants are based at the Centro Fiorenza, founded in 1982 and located right in the center of Florence in a prestigious seventeenth century palace called Palazzo Guicciardini.
The former palace overlooks Florence's beautiful Arno River and the famous Ponte Vecchio. The Italian language instruction (3 credits of beginning, intermediate or advanced Italian) that participants will receive from the Centro Fiorenza's staff is top notch.
Classes typically meet four days a week, allowing students ample opportunity to travel throughout Italy and Europe on the weekends and during Spring Break.

Meet our Marketing Interns
Zhimin "Becca" Yang, Marketing

Becca is a marketing intern at the Mason study abroad office. She is currently a senior who is majoring in marketing and minoring in graphic design. She was born in Shanghai,
China, and is currently studying abroad at George Mason University as an international student. Becca has an interest in traveling and has visited many different countries in the world and would like to visit Japan at the next opportunity.
After visiting the United States several times when she was younger, she decided that she wanted to pursue her college education in the United States. After studying and
living in the United States for three years Becca has adapted to America and enjoys being immersed in the day to day happenings of American culture. Becca has also had another immersion experience from when she became an international volunteer to help in
Costa Rica. During this time, she learned to appreciate the local culture and decided that she would like to pursue Spanish as her third language. She is very excited to be participating as an intern at the study abroad office because it is giving her a more
global view while also lending her more experience in the field of her major. She looks forward to gaining more experience in her field of study and continuing to learn about the world around her.
