Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in electrical, mechanical, PV engineering, or any other related discipline.
Required Skills:
High level of experience with AutoCAD software, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, excellent communication skills, ability to read and understand plans and schematics.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Google Sketch Up, basic knowledge of electricity including DC power systems, knowledge of photovoltaic systems, knowledge of building architecture and construction, familiarity with NEC and how it applies to PV systems,
NABCEP certification is desired but not required.
Job Summary:
The Solar CAD Designer provides design support for photovoltaic projects (commercial and residential) to sales, engineering, and construction. They will provide support on multiple projects from early development to system completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing proposal layouts and basic system design requirements for sales and engineering using AutoCAD software.
- Aiding in on-site evaluations for pre and post sales of projects.
- Coordinate with structural, electrical, civil Professional Engineers during design process to assure concepts and designs meet all applicable codes and standards.
- Produce Single-Line and 3-Line electrical schematics.
- Provide engineering technical support for sales and construction.
- Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and co-workers.
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) for project construction.
