Call for Presentations!
We would love to see you at the WGST 3rd Annual Conference at George Mason University.
A one-day conference hosted by the Women and Gender Studies department at
George Mason University, gathers artists, activists, scholars, intellectuals, community members,and others together to critically and creatively examine how gender and justice are intertwined.
All students, faculty, staff, administrators, and off-campus partners are welcome to
submit proposals for paper presentations, panel discussions, creative performances, or poster sessions. Proposals are due March 11, 2016 to

Submission Instructions:
We welcome proposals for art installations, paper presentations, dance
and spoken word performances, roundtable discussions, and workshops. Proposals should include: name, affiliation, e-mail address, title, a 250-word abstract and CV or resume. Please send all materials to [log in to unmask] by March
11, 2016 with the subject line “Submission for Conference 2016.” All accepted participants will be notified byMarch
18, 2016.
Topics:
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

Cultural and artistic interventions

Methods of change: peaceful protest, disruption, violence

The impact of inequality on intersecting identities

Relationships between justice and inequality
-
Representations of identities in media
-
Crafting just policies, from local to global
Registration:
The registration fee will be a recommended donation of $10 or more. Participants who are incapable of donating the full amount are invited
to pay as much as they can afford. Lunch will be provided as well as a light breakfast and afternoon refreshments.
Resource Fair:
The resource fair is a great opportunity for campus/community organizations who works in the field of women and gender studies to connect
with students, faculty, staff, and community activists/organizers. Feel free to promote volunteer, internship and career opportunities. If you are interested, please fill out this form by April 15, 2016 and
